In Loving Memory

With a heavy heart....

On December 19th the world lost a wonderful woman, friend, mother and wife. After fighting breast cancer for a year and a half, my friend, Jamie, was taken from us...way too early. She was only 31 years old.

I have tried to write this post over and over again, but just cannot come up with the words. What can I say about Jamie that will give any of you an idea of what an extremely wonderful person she was. She has taught me many things in the short time that I knew her, but above all she taught me to appreciate what I have, and to cherish every moment I have with my friends and family. Jamie was the strongest person I have ever known, who fought this ugly disease until the very end. I'm am still amazed at her positive attitude she always had.

There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about Jamie.

Jamie left behind a husband and triplet 2 year olds. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about them either.

Jamie, you are in a better place now. This post is for you... In loving memory.

Cancer Sucks

Every minute one American will die from cancer. That is one every 60 seconds. 1,500 Americans every day die from cancer. That is CRAZY. I don't know one person who has not been affected by cancer in one why or another. Right now I have a very strong, and AMAZING friend who is battling Stage IV breast cancer. My aunt is a cancer survivor. Who do you know who has been affected by cancer?

What can you do? Stand Up to Cancer.

SU2C is an organization working with the top experts in cancer research. Stand Up To Cancer is forging a new way to develop breakthroughs that will end cancer. They're putting together the best and the brightest minds in cancer research They are building interdisciplinary “Dream Teams” of scientists, clinicians, technicians and other experts, who will focus on a specific cancer problem. SU2C will track the teams' progress in real time, so that everyone who invests can see how their participation is creating real change. (Taken from the mission statement found here.)

What does this mean to you?

You can donate by going here. Any amount will help!!
