Sanyo Eneloop Rechargable Batteries Review & Giveaway

If you are like me, you have a bazillion things that require batteries, and you never seem to have enough, or the right size. It seems like everything my son has now days requires batteries to work. Between the rough and tough children's digital camera, the V-Smile and the Wii controllers, we needed new batteries for something every week. So, I began my mission of finding the best rechargeable batteries out there. That is when I found Sanyo's eneloop rechargeable batteries. When I received them in the mail, they were already charged and ready to be used. So, I put two AAs in my Wii remote and we were ready for the next round of Mario Kart. I would love to report back and tell you how long they lasted, but I can't....because they haven't died yet!

What's more is that you can get the neatest little case that a AA battery, to make bigger batteries. It only takes 1 AA eneloop battery, I can put it in the C cell adapter (or Spacer) in and now I have a C cell battery! How awesome is that? I also have an adapter for a D cell battery, which still only requires 1 A sized eneloop battery.

Are you striving to be more green in your everyday life? Then the eneloop batteries are right up your alley. Eneloop is not only rechargeable, but it is also recyclable.
Cost savings a goal for you in 2009? Since these batteries are rechargeable up to 1,000 times, you will save tons of money by the time you need to purchase new ones.

Win it!!!

What to try it out for yourself? Here's your chance.

All I need you to do is head over to Sanyo's eneloop website, and then come back here and leave me a comment with a fact from the website that I did not post here. The winner will receive a 4 pack of AA batteries and a rapid charger. It's that simple!

I learned that with the new characteristics of eneloop Sanyo could increase the cycle life to nearly double the level of a standard rechargeable battery.

I learned that they have a very low self-discharge rate - a problem we have with our NiMH batteries! That would be amazing ifyou could charge them and they'd be ready whenever you were!

I learned that unlike other rechargeable batteries these can be used straight from the package. Charged already and that once charged they can last up to a year.. Wow, I also love that they can be charged over and over, but the biggest appeal to me is the fact that you can use the Space to make them into C or D batteries, I always am in need of C batteries.
Thanks! absolutely terrific product.
I had never heard of these Sanyo Eneloop batteries but will be looking for them.

One of the main features of eneloop is the higher voltage level.

"Memory Effect is a term used to describe the effects on the overall life of the battery when it goes through charge and discharge cycles. The eneloop battery does not experience the effects of "memory effect"."

Cool!

While conventional NiMH Batteries suffer from substantial self-discharge, eneloop batteries have a drastically reduced self-discharge.

These are cool! I learned from the web site that low self-discharge NiMH batteries are good for photography and other high energy requirement applications. Due to the low self-discharge they are also suitable for long-term intermittent or low-current uses; they might last up to a year between charges, much better than ordinary NiMH batteries. They can therefore also be used for electrical clocks, remote controls, toys, PC mice, etc.

These are very cool, I haven't heard of Sanyo's brand yet. I have a bunch of rechargeable batteries, but always need more. I have also found that some brands are way better then others. I have never seen the adapter for C & D before, very cool!

I learned that Sanyo is the first company to develop a rechargeable battery with very low self-discharge.

I like these for the environmental impact. This alone represents a gigantic waste of resources if you consider that 26.000 tons of batteries plus packaging have been produced, transported and sold in Germany only for a single use. Also the unavoidable burden on the environment by the manufacturing process and by the transport should be considered.

Between my older daughter's toys, my younger daughter's swing and bouncy seat, and my digital camera, remotes, etc. we never seem to have batteries that work! I'm amazed that one eneloop will last around 19 years if you discharge and charge it once per week. That sounds like exactly what I need!

Thanks!
